Tim Nafe grew up outside Philadelphia, drawing mostly to make people laugh. That part hasn't changed much.
His subjects come from wherever he's been lately and whatever has caught his eye along the way — odd corners of nature, small absurdities of everyday life, the things most people walk right past. He knows a piece is working when it earns a second look and then a grin.
Most of that work has stayed close to home so far: pieces made as gifts, lessons for anyone curious enough to ask how it's done, commissions for people who wanted something nobody else would have. He's ready to send more of it out into the world, and to find the people who think a little levity on the wall beats a lot of seriousness.
